We require the ability to create historic work orders via the Fracttal API. Currently, the existing API only allows the creation of new work orders with the current date and time. However, our use case necessitates the ability to create work orders with past dates, reflecting accurate historical maintenance activities.
The API for creating work orders does not support creating historic work-orders, ones that are already closed.
As a workaround, we must request database-level modifications from Fracttal's technical team to manually insert records directly into the database.
This process is both time-consuming and costly, as it requires additional technical support and bypasses the standard API workflow.
We request an enhancement to the existing API to allow:
Custom Work Order Dates – Ability to specify a creation date and completion date for work orders, including past dates.
Backdated Work Order Entry – Ensure that backdated work orders do not interfere with existing workflows, such as notifications or automatic triggers that assume all work orders are created in real time.
Closed Work Order Status – Have the ability to update the status to closed, as the work order has already been completed.
Improves data accuracy by ensuring that historic work orders are correctly reflected in the system.
Reduces manual intervention and dependency on database modifications, streamlining our workflow.
Saves time and costs associated with requesting Fracttal’s team to create these records manually.
Enhances reporting capabilities by ensuring maintenance history is accurately recorded.
By implementing this functionality, Fracttal can improve its system’s flexibility and support a broader range of use cases for businesses managing maintenance history. We believe this enhancement will be valuable to multiple customers facing similar challenges.
